Protocol Description

The purpose of this research study is to determine which of two commonly used treatments Warfarin (Coumadin), an anticoagulant (blood thinner), or aspirin, a drug which reduces platelet function (keeps blood from clotting) is better for preventing  death and stroke in patients with poor heart (cardiac) function.  Both Warfarin and Aspirin are FDA approved for the use of reducing the risk of death associated with stroke and heart attacks.

Eligibility Criteria

Patients diagnosed with heart failure
