Protocol Description

People with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are at high risk for developing atherosclerosis. We are doing this study to find out whether or not a drug called atorvastatin, also known as Lipitor, will lower lipid levels, decrease inflammation and lessen heart, stroke and circulatory problems in people from age 10 through 21 years with SLE. We are also studying the outcome of lupus.

Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
