Protocol Description
The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of 3,3'-diindolylmethane (DIM), on white blood cells and other inflammatory proteins that are felt to play a role in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
DIM is a commercially available product found in vegetables such as cabbage. Information on study participants' SLE disease activity will be gathered in order to understand whether this therapy has an effect on SLE.
Although the short-term objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of the study medicine on white blood cells and other proteins, the long-term objective of this entire project is to investigate whether DIM has the ability to either prevent flares or reduce disease activity in patients with SLE.

Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
