A Multicenter Study of Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy

Protocol Description
The purpose of this research study is to investigate whether different forms of epilepsy are inherited. In order to find the genes involved in these epilepsies, we need to have the participation of patients with epilepsy and other members of their family, whether they have symptoms or not. Results of this research study may contribute to our understanding of what causes epilepsy.

Patients with epilepsy and their family members
