Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to find out what effects, good or bad, one of two treatment programs has on patients and their bone marrow disorder.  One treatment program consists of a new dose and schedule of a drug called Azacitidine, which is approved for the treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).  The other treatment program includes the same dose and schedule of Azacitidine in combination with a new, investigational drug known as Entinostat. In this study you will get either Azacitidine alone, or Azacitidine plus Entinostat. Patients will not get both treatment programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Patients with one of the following types of bone marrow disorders: myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS); acute myeloid leukemia (AML), or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia
