Dedicated space for clinical research:
- Out-patient unit with 2 exam rooms and 1 treatment room with 2 recliner chairs available.
- In-patient beds on 4 Cohen of NSUH.
Patient care available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays upon request
Research nurses to perform complex research interventions such as:
- Specimen collection.
- Specimen processing.
- IV therapy.
- Serial blood sampling.
- Biofeedback.
- EKG.
Payment for laboratory tests and other ancillaries.
Biostatistics support for statistical and data management support for all facets of research.
GCRC Core Laboratory support:
- Can collect, process, store and distribute samples through its Biorepository.
- Can provide a facility for functional brain imaging using Positron Emission Tomography (PET) in our Brain Imaging Facility.
- Can apply the techniques of molecular biology and biochemistry to research problems with clinical implications through our Molecular Biology core.
A Research Advocate is available to ensure that research subjects understand the informed consent process.
A Research Assistant to handle:
- Patient scheduling.
- Telephone questionnaires.
