Student Intern Programs

The Student Intern Program provides high school and college students with the opportunity to conduct disease-oriented research.  The program is now more than 25 years old and has served students from the metropolitan area. High school students who have come through the program have gone on to enter their research in major science competitions, including the Intel award. Several students have been semi-finalists; three were finalists. The Feinstein faculty conduct studies in many areas, including Alzheimer’s disease, autoimmune disease, cancer, genetics, immunology and inflammation, neuropsychiatric disorders and Parkinson’s disease.  Students work with advisors to develop their own research project in one of these areas. Some students can also elect to work on a scientific journal published by the Feinstein Institute. Molecular Medicine  is a peer-reviewed journal that reaches thousands of scientists every other month. There are hundreds of applications a year and only a select number of students will be accepted into the program.
