Vice President, Technology Transfer
Kirk R. Manogue, PhD, joined the North Shore-LIJ Health System in 2002 as Director of the Office of Technology Transfer for The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. As Director, Dr. Manogue works with investigators within The Feinstein Institute and the larger North Shore-LIJ Health System to secure patent protection for their inventions. He also facilitates commercial interactions, accelerating the development of basic and clinical research discoveries into products and services that will have an impact on human health and disease. In addition to developing licensing opportunities for Institute inventions, Dr. Manogue is particularly interested in cultivating new business ventures to exploit platform technologies conceived by Feinstein investigators. He is also responsible for contract compliance in the Institute’s commercial relationships, review and execution of all Materials Transfer and Confidential Disclosure Agreements, as well as Licensing Agreements.
For ten years prior, Dr. Manogue was Vice President of The Picower Institute for Medical Research, which he helped to found in 1991, with responsibilities in the areas of intellectual property and business development. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Behavior, with Honors, from Bucknell University in 1974. He received a PhD in Neuroscience and Behavior from The Rockefeller University in 1979, and was a postdoctoral investigator and junior faculty member of The Rockefeller University from 1979-1991, latterly working in the area of cytokine biology and inflammation. Dr. Manogue has co-authored more than 50 manuscripts and review articles and is a Registered U.S. Patent Agent.
