About the HRPP

Mission

The mission of the Human Research Protection Program is to support, facilitate and promote the ethical and safe conduct of research with human subjects at Northwell Health. We serve to protect the rights and welfare of human research participants. We provide the research community with professional guidance and support during the conduct of human subjects research studies.

Committees

We administer 1 IRB committee that meets twice a week. The IRB reviews, approves and monitors biomedical and behavioral human research. We offer services in support of clinical research and compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing human subject protections.

Our IRB committee is comprised of people with diverse clinical and professional expertise from across the Health System. Representatives from the lay community also play an important role in ensuring that the rights and welfare of the communities served by the Health System are respected and maintained.
