About the IACUC Office


The IACUC office offers services in support of preclinical research and compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations governing animal based research. We administer one IACUC committee that meets monthly. The IACUC reviews, approves and monitors biomedical and behavioral animal based preclinical research.

IACUC Office Functions

The function of the IACUC Office is to provide you with the following:

  • What you need to know about animal based research and what you need to consider when developing your research proposals;
  • Information you need to conduct your research and remain in compliance;
  • Pre-Submission assistance and support when preparing material for IACUC review;
  • Ongoing education on animal subject research issues through workshops, seminars, conferences, newsletters and web based training;
  • Review and approval of submissions;
  • Post approval monitoring of approved animal-based research activities;
  • Congruency assessments of PHS funded animal research
