The Flow Cytometry Core provides instrument support and daily assistance to users in a variety of flow cytometry-based techniques for both research and clinical applications. These include analysis of cell surface markers, analysis of expression of intracellular proteins and separation of cell suspensions into sub-groups or single cells. The core also provides expertise in the use of antibody-conjugated fluorescent bead arrays to analyze small samples of cell and tissue extracts, as well as serum samples.
We now have two BD ARIA cell sorters using multiple laser lines: Violet, Blue, and Red. We are capable of four-way cell sorting of screened material, and can sort into plates as well for PCR or culture.
We are starting to phase in our newest flow analyzer, the FACS Verse, which is an 8-color analyzer utilizing three lasers: Blue, Red, and Violet. The new Verse is capable of sampling from a variety of containers and is easy to use.
We are available if you need assistance in developing new protocols for flow cytometric analyses, or to obtain specific protocol information from literature or other commonly used standard protocols such as immunophonotying, cell cycle, proliferative index, Cacium Flux, anti-Brdu, and others.
Please contact Chris Colon, Core Director, for further assistance and information.
