Nawshin Kutub, PhD

Prior to joining the Office of the Human Research Protection Program, Nawshin performed her postdoctoral studies in neuroimmunology looking at the role of immune response after traumatic injury in humans, at Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. She was also the recipient of the postdoctoral fellowship award from the New York State Spinal Cord Injury Research Board (NYSCIRB). Nawshin received her PhD in biopsychology/ behavioral neuroscience from the Graduate Center where she studied the role of dopamine on neuropeptide expression in the mesolimbic pathways in a pre-clinical model. During her doctoral and postdoctoral work she was responsible for maintaining IACUC and IRB compliance for her studies which further sparked her interest in the regulatory environment of research work.
