The Investigating Mood Pathology: Assessment, Course, Treatment (IMPACT) Lab is focused on improving outcomes for adolescents with mood symptoms. Specifically, we are interested in subclinical and prodromal presentations of mood disorders in youth, and on the factors that predict the trajectory of a young person at risk for developing a mood disorder. Studying the early course of mood disorders contributes knowledge we can use to improve early identification and develop preventive interventions.
The IMPACT Lab is also interested in evidence-based assessment and is working to employ novel technology to improve the accuracy and speed of mood disorder diagnosis, in order to improve clinical services, facilitate access to care, and increase patients’ quality of life.
We are also invested in the dissemination of evidence-based practices, and work to educate clinicians and families about the best methods for assessing and treating psychopathology in youth.
