Northwell Health Research Policies

Northwell Health research policies apply to all Northwell Health employees, as well as medical staff, volunteers, students, trainees, physician office staff, contractors, trustees and other persons performing work for or at Northwell Health; faculty and students of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell conducting research on behalf of the Zucker School of Medicine on or at any Northwell Health facility; and the faculty and students of the Hofstra Northwell School of Graduate Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies. Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Policies and Procedures

The HRPP Policy and Procedure Manual reflects the policy and procedures of the Northwell Health Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). The HRPP Policies and Procedures Manual applies when using the Northwell Health IRB.  Updated 10/01/18

The IRB Fee Schedule policy details how fees are calculated for IRB review and processing performed by the Northwell Health Institutional Review Board.  Updated 1/10/17

Animal Research Program (ARP) Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

The ARP policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) apply to those who work in animal research and can be found on the ARP Intranet webpage. This includes the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Policy and Procedure Manual, animal care and use guidelines, the Center for Comparative Physiology (CCP) SOPs, and applications and forms.

Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) Policies and Procedures

The IBC Policies and Procedures Manual reflects the policies and procedures of the Northwell Health Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). The IBC Policies and Procedures Manual applies when using the Northwell Health IBC. Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Safety Manual

The EH&S Safety Manual can be found on the Safety Office’s Intranet webpage. Some policies and SOPs within the Safety Manual apply only to those who work at 350 Community Drive and other policies and SOPs are applicable to all research personnel. Facility/Departmental/Programmatic Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
