Dr. Negin Hajizadeh published a paper on the return
on investment of an early childhood intervention
The paper determines the cost-effectiveness of ParentCorps, a family-centered enhancement to pre-kindergarten programming, in high-poverty, urban schools. Measuring the costs and quality adjusted life years (QALYs) resulting from the development of various health and life outcomes, the model found an estimated savings of $4,387 per individual and increase in each individual’s quality adjusted life expectancy by 0.27 QALYs.
